This is Ed Jones during one of his sax solos. I don't understand why Rob thinks Ed is such a good sax player, because he is only moderately talented ;-)

As a matter of fact Incognito consists of only formidable musicians: not once have I been able to catch one of them making a huge mistake. Don't mistake me for saying that their concerts are flawless, but I never noticed anything seriously wrong.
And I have heard/seen examples of (bits of) concerts going completely awry ...

What point I'm trying to bring across kinda escapes me, but it probably will have to do with the fact that Incognito doesn't get the recognition I think they deserve.

On this again not still photo (they won't stand still, them guys) you see Kelli, Bluey, Richard, Martin and Julian in action.

Martin Verdonk played percussion earlier that same evening with Ilse De Lange's band as part of the Kane concert in the Arena where he played for more than 40.000 people. That is a far cry from the 1500 spectators there were here!
But, if you ask me, I will always choose quality over quantity and in this case quality was paramount.

This is a picture of which I am proud of. And I will explain to you why.
During Morning Sun the audience was requested, as usual, to participate in the generally known hand/arm gestures.

Of course my friends and me had already started doing so, because we had previous Incognito concert experiences, but that is just a side note.
At the moment that Kelli looks at me while she is pointing at me, I point at her at the next phrase. Obviously that was wrong and Kelli knew that. She burst into laughing and forgot to sing her part.

She teasingly asked me to come on stage with a hand gesture to have me doing it correctly. That really didn't seem like a smart idea and way to much honor anyway.

I want to put this man, Tyrone Henry, in the spotlight separately.

Most of the time he just sings background vocals, but in Who Needs Love he always sings Ed Motta's part. And believe me, those are big shoes (and a big cardigan) to fill, but he really does it very well.

Keep it up!

Naturally the encore song was Still A Friend Of Mine, though for a little while I doubted if there would even be an encore. I think the festival organization really wanted to end it at 23.00. Luckily the crowd made enough noise to get Incognito back on stage.

At the end of the concert the only error surfaced. After Bluey's thank you and his proclamation ("Beyond color, beyond creed, we are truly one nation under the groove.") it was not One Love that trickled from the speakers, but something vaguely Bob Marley-ish.

On behalf of my friends and myself I want to thank Incognito for this wonderful concert in Rotterdam.

And Bluey, like I mentioned to Tony already, I am not a stalker, just a huge fan ;-)
