The Promised Land

In September/October of 1997 I went to America for the first time, altough it always had an enormous pull. When I finally set foot in New York it felt like coming home, in a familiar, friendly surrounding.
The second time I was in New York, almost three years later, this feeling was even stronger: without looking at a map I exactly knew where I was. Weird, but comforting.

In the intervening period I visited cities like Milwaukee and Chicago on business trips.
I also visited the US twice on vacation in 2002 and during all these trips I got to know the people. You won't be amazed to know I feel at home in there.
