Now that it wasn't not too crowded I had the opportunity to take some "before" pictures, one of which is the stage where it would all happen a little while from now.

The anticipation grows.

It grew even more when I was able to see the playlist from the balcony.
According to this list on Tim Vine's keyboard Incognito is going to play the following songs:
  • Atmospheric Intro
  • STP
  • Colibri
  • Castles In The Air
  • Nights Over Egypt
  • Keep The Fires Burning
  • Always There
  • Skin On My Skin
  • Labour Of Love
  • Reach Out
  • Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing
  • Everday
  • Roots
  • Rivers Runnin' Black
  • Talkin Loud
  • Stay Mine
  • Still A Friend Of Mine
This looked promising! Bluey evidently chose a great diversity in songs. Of course they play a couple of songs from Life, Stranger Than Fiction; 4 to be exact, and I am very curious to hear how Castles In The Air will sound live.

From the moment we entered the venue DJ Cassie 6 has been playing some dope sounds, which perfectly matched the Incognito sound. This is not at all obvious, because it is easier for DJ's to play some techno hits to warm up a crowd.
The latter was not really necessary, because Jesus Fucking Christ, it was unbelievably hot in there. We had already joked that this should be the Arena, because in that case the roof could be opened ... but then again, astroturf doesn't dance well ...

If at 2120 hours Ronald's posse arrives we are complete and ready to party.

Now Erwin and Daan are looking in the wrong direction kind of amazed, but if the band comes onstage at the stroke of 2132 hours that will change. The most important thing is that they're on time, because it was close for a little while. I will spare you teh details ;-)

And then: Incognito comes on stage. First the keyboard players, Tim Vine and Jim Watson, who create an Atmospheric Intro to which the rest of the musicians come on stage: Richard Bailey on drums, Julian Crampton on bass, Ed Jones on saxophone and flute, Nichol Thomson on trombone, Dominic Glover on trumpet and flugelhorn and of course Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick on guitar.
The intro changes into STP, whatever that may be, in which the band warms up and gives the PA crew the chance to create the perfect sound mix.
Then, on the first chords of Colibri, no less than 5 vocalists come on stage: Kelli Sae, Xavier Barnett, Noel McKoy and two replacement singers.
